We are anticipating having a full nursery in September, so please contact as soon as possible to secure your place.

There may be a waiting list for Nursery places in the future so please apply early.

Did you know that you can now apply for 30 hours of funded childcare?

The government has made changes to the Early Education and Childcare offer from September 2017. Currently 3 and 4 year old children are eligible for 570 hours of childcare a year which is broken down to 15 hours each week over 38 weeks. However at St Wilfrid’s we currently offer 30 hours of childcare per week which means that we fund the additional 15 hours through our school budget.

From September 2017 many working parents of 3 and 4 year old children in England will be eligible for 30 hours of funded childcare, rather than the current 15 hours. Not every child will be eligible for the 30 hrs but everyone will still receive 15 hours funded childcare.

The eligibility rules for 30 hours funded childcare are as follows:

Your child will be aged 3 or 4 when the scheme starts (September 2017)
Both parents must be working – or sole parent is working in a lone parent family
Each parent earns, on average a weekly minimum equivalent to 16 hours at National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage.
Each parent must have an annual income of less than £100,000
You live in England
Parents will not necessarily need to work 16 hours a week, but their earnings must reflect at least 16 hours of work at NMW or NLW. This means that, working parents must be earning at least £120 per week. Parents on zero contract hours who meet the criteria are included in the entitlement criteria.

Further information and guidance are available at the following websites www.childcarechoices.gov.uk

In view of these new arrangements, we ask that if you meet any of the criteria then please make sure you apply for this allowance. This will also enable St Wilfrid’s to benefit from the additional funding if you choose to use the entitlement with us.
