‘Working together as one – with God all things are possible’

Matthew 19:26

“We believe St Wilfrid’s Church of England Primary School is a great place to learn and develop. We are committed to ensuring that your child’s time at St Wilfrid’s is full of fun, happiness and success.” Chair of Governors

At St Wilfrid’s we believe that every child has great potential and that this is not limited by their background or start in life.  We do not look at where a child comes from, but consider where they will go and how we can help them achieve their dreams.  We understand that if we have the highest of expectations of ourselves and all the children we will put no limits on how much can be achieved.

Our vision for St Wilfrid’s is to be a school where we seek;

  • To create an environment in which children can experience the pleasure that comes from the success in learning, thereby building self-confidence and self motivation that will continue throughout their life of learning beyond St Wilfrid’s
  • To strive to develop children’s initiative, independence and sense of responsibility
  • To encourage children to have respect for the demands of a rapidly changing society with due regard for equality of opportunity, encouraging children to have respect for others and fulfil our mission statement ; “Working together as one”
  • To provide our children with experiences and actively participate in a relevant, enjoyable skills-based curriculum that evolves to meet the needs of all.

We believe that to provide the best education, learning, aspirations and care for all our children, we have to care for each other, but also challenge each other to have those high expectations at all times.
